Making the Grade: Biore Charcoal Self Heating One-Minute Mask

If you have been on social media in the past few months, if only for 30 seconds, your feed has at least one post about charcoal masks gone wrong. I admit, they are hysterical. I admit, I want to try and find that mask that is supposed to suck out gunk from your pores. However, I know myself, I too will become one of those people featured in the next installment of beauty treatments gone bad. That is why when I came across Biore's Charcoal Self Heating One-Minute Mask ($8) I had to try it with some skepticism. I really wanted it to be like the ones in the video, but I knew that was not the case. I wanted the satisfaction of peeling off a mask like elmer's glue after art class. However, I also wanted soft even skin. So after using the Biore Charcoal Self Heating One-Minute Mask, I understand the power of charcoal.

After carefully reading the box, I wet my face to prepare myself for the action. Each box, comes with four individually packaged "servings" of mask. I suggest pre-opening the mask and then washing your face. If you know me, I did not do that. So, as I am fumbling wet faced to open the packaging, I finally open it. The sludge comes out and I coat my face with the magical mask. Instantly, the mask heats up and pulls out all the impurities. A

quick minute passes by and you wash it off. Skin is left feeling fresh and clean. The box suggests that you use the mask a couple times a week, to help balance out skin. After three uses, my skin felt significantly healthier. I noticed that my make up went on more smoothly. At first, it brought up all the "gunk," but eventually it was eliminated.

Final Grade: A+
