Fragrance of the Month: June

This past weekend, I had just one of those quintessential summer weekends. There was time spent out in nature, drives out of the city, and those special New York City evenings. For my summer beauty routine, I minimize everything, but do not forget fragrance. It is a must. However, I switch it up, and make sure to keep it light and fresh. Below are great picks for fragrances to help usher you into the warmer months.

Women's: Bring the garden into your routine with Clarins Eau des Jardins($58). Upon smelling it the first time, you just know it is summer in a bottle. Then you read the name and that light bulb goes off. Acting as an energizing aromatherapy, this fragrance harmoniously gathers all the flowers of the garden with lively citrus scents. Roses mix with grapefruits, and bergamot dance with wood fragrances, and everything else comes together for a complete garden. It is such a light

fragrance that will compliment any summer look.

Men's: Summer men's fragrances can sometimes border on a throwback fragrance trying to call to the sea. However, Cartier's L'Envol ($132) is a masculine, light fragrance for the mature man. In what can only be the coolest bottle to graze your vanity (what's the men's version of a vanity?). It represents the capsule of life. The top note is honey for a sweet start. Then there is musk, patchouli and Caribbean guayacan wood. The wood wood roots this fragrance as a summer staple. There is the balance of light and sweet with warm and spicy.
