I love my blonde hair. I’ve been a blonde for 99.9% of my life, whether it was natural, highlighted, or a combination of both. However, sometimes my blonde can appear to look dull. Many blondes don’t know about the secret of purple shampoo and how it can counteract the dullness for any shade of blonde. There are a plethora of options on the market, but all brands are not created equal. Right now, at the top of my rotation is Redken Color Extend Blondage Shampoo and Conditioner ($20) to help fight brassiness, which usually peaks during the summer.
When using the shampoo for the first time, the deep, shimmery royal purple takes ones breath away. Tapping into my small bank of art knowledge I recognize that the purple compliments the yellow hues of blonde hair. The pastel violet conditioner helps to continue combatting by neutralizing brassy, dull hair. Not only does the color stay vibrant the shampoo and conditioner has a Triple Acid Protein helps to strengthen hair to prevent breakage. It is best to be used twice a week while alternating other shampoos.
I have been using the shampoo and conditioner combination for the past six weeks and I have seen a significant difference in the color of my hair. My hair color is multi-tonal so it helped to define the color and then it looked so much more dynamic. I have not gone to the salon for high-lights and I have not been sitting in the sun much this summer. However, my hair color is incredibly more vibrant because of Redken Color Extend Blondage.
